The Icing on the Cake recognises the importance of our environment and strives to reduce wastage and carbon footprint through a variety of measures.
Within the bakery, we have a waste reduction programme which involves recycling all possible office materials (paper, plastic, printer cartridges) and reusing printed paper which has led to the bakery achieving a zero landfill site. Our carbon footprint and road miles have been reduced by one million miles and water management including reduction as well as trade effluent compliance. Furthermore, we are a renewable energy site; we switched to gas burning ovens reducing energy consumption by 15% each year.
